The STEM Sub -Comm. oversees the implementation of the BSA STEM-Nova program across the Council. This includes the training of Nova Counselors and SuperNova Mentors, Connecting interested units with nearby support, Supporting STEM activities at our Summer camp programs… Additionally the Committee oversees the Annual Spring Break STEM Camp (10 years now) for Troop/ Ship/ Crew aged youth, Cub Scout STEM days, and serves as the support and evaluation of SuperNova Award application Packages.
The Committees are (as many after COVID) looking for new members in order to support the Council, Units and individuals.
Do you have a background / training/ profession in 1 or more of our areas? Would you like to help support our Camp property operations? Do you want to help teach our members about Outdoor Ethics and how to best act in the outdoors? Do you have a love of Science and want to share that with our Scouts?
Then We would love to talk to you about joining the team(s).

The Joint Comm on Conservation, Outdoor Ethics & STEM is Chaired by Shawn Spencer of Founders District.
A Leave No Trace Master Educator, Master TREAD Trainer, DCS Award Advisor, and SuperNova Mentor Shawn also serves as the Councils Outdoor Ethics Advocate and just finished a 10 year span on the National Outdoor Ethics Comm.
