2021 National Scout Jamboree

2021 National Scout Jamboree at The Summit

Boy Scouts of America holds a National Jamboree every four years, giving Scouts from across the nation a chance to gather together for an incredible experience.  Scouts that attend will have an unforgetable time taking part in mountain climbing, kayaking, rafting, biking, SCUBA and more activities, while interacting with Scouts from around the world.

Jamboree Date:

Officially the Jamboree will be held from July 21 – 30, 2021.

Members attending with the Greater New York Councils Contingent should plan to allow for several days in advance of that for shakedown and preparation held at Ten Mile River Scout Camps.

 Location:

The Summit Bechtel Scout Reservation, Beckley, West Virginia

 

 Cost:

The cost for a youth to attended as a member of the GNYC Contingent is $2000 but Scouts can save with An early bird rate of $1850 by completing payment by May 1st 2021.

Youth Qualifications:

Scouts attending must be a registered Scout BSA or Venture Scout in Greater New York Councils.  Scouts must be at least 12 years old and First Class rank by the time of the contingent’s departure (approx July 14, 2021).  All Scouts must be younger than 18 for the duration of the trip and Venture Scouts must be younger than 21 for the duration of the trip.

  • In good physical condition. A lot of physical activity and walking must be done.
  • Willing to be part of a group. Tasks will include setting up and tearing down the campsite, cooking, washing dishes, picking up food, and other campsite chores.
  • Participate in jamboree troop meetings and pre-jamboree training experience.
  • Submit a completed health and medical record before the pre-jamboree training experience.
  • Be approved by the Scout’s unit leader and the Council Jamboree Committee.
  • Agree to Participant Statement of Understanding and Code of Conduct.
  • Submit all registration fees by April 30, 2021.

 

Adult Qualifications:

Adults attending with the council’s contingent must be registered in Greater New York Councils, interviewed by the Jamboree committee, and be approved by the Scout Executive.
