JCOS events

You are invited to join the Scouts BSA and the Girl Scouts USA as they march and lead off the color guard in the Celebrate Israel Parade, taking place on Sunday, June 7th, 2020 in New York City.  Starting at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, over 5 hours of marchers will be led by the Scouts.  Individual Scouts are welcome – you do not need to come with your Troop to march!!!  If you are interested, please contact: Scoutmaster & Parade Coordinator for Scouts, Mike Schatzberg at schatz110@comcast.net or 973-818-3620.

Information on the National Jewish Committee’s Philmont Trek for 2020 is here!  Save the date for June 28th – July 12th, 2020!!

After the success of the Trek last year, the National JCOS will be offering Jewish scouts and leaders and opportunity to enjoy Philmont every two years.  We have been allotted two crews which welcome Jewish Scouts, Venturers, & Sea Scouts of age and rank requirement.  Each trek will have a Rabbi alongside them, as a guide in this exploration; Rabbis will hold ordination from Reform, Conservative, or other non-Orthodox seminaries.

Have questions?  Contact: National Jewish Committee on Scouting, Philmont Trek Coordinator, Dr. Norman Kahn at nkahnmd@gmail.com or 913-991-2938.
